Chronology
Conclusions
Here are four different approaches to a revised chronology.
 | Secular Jewish approach.
Velikovsky approaches Bible history from astronomical and secular historical angles.
|
 | Religous Jewish approach.
The Jerusalem Home Page has a distinctly believer's attitude to the Scriptures.
|
 | Disinterested academic approach.
Rohl says his conclusions concerning Bible history were not the reason for his research, but rather the result of his research.
|
 | Christian believer's approach.
Courville is clearly a believer. He set out to find a chronology which would vindicate the Scriptures.

All of these attempted revisions of chronology contain a common element - a recognition that the history of Ancient Egypt has been extended by several hundred years beyond its real length.
All suggest ways to account for these years, and these involve, in various ways, co-regencies, parallel dynasties and duplications of some aspects of ancient history.
While it may be a long time before the details are sorted out regarding these extra years, there is reasonable evidence to tie the history of Israel into the known history of the Ancient World. Maybe it would be better said that there are ways to tie ancient history into true history, as recorded in the Bible.
The important point is that alternatives to the tradional chronology have been offered. Each is at least as well reasoned as the traditional view. The Bible student who accepts the Bible as historically accurate can do so without sacrificing intellectual integrity.
